About

The Destiny Hunters was is a club that we started in our pre-teen years in an estate in Nairobi, Kenya we were all neighbors growing together where we did all kinds of crazy activities like getting in trouble playing “knock knock danger,” playing house cooking outside with metal tins mixing leaves or whatever we could steal from our kitchens, we danced and shared each other secrets, funny enough we were some organized kids, because we elected a chairperson, treasurer and so forth for the club. Overall, we can all agree that we all share a bond that has lasted 20+ years, even though we have all moved on and are adults now residing all over the globe, we have whatsapp to thank for group chats, we all get to meet like we are in the same room again hence Destinyhunters.com, only because we crack ourselves so much and want to share with the world…. here is a little about us….

Lovenda:  Hi everyone, my name is Lovenda Ochieng (good luck trying to pronounce this one) for official purposes and for cordial purposes I’ll include my other two names which are Akinyi Aliseba. Country of origin is Kenya though I currently reside in the USA, Virginia to be exact.I came here in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

I have been a Destiny Hunter for as long as I could speak I believe. We have known each other so long I can’t pinpoint where and when in time we started to interact. This to me defines a bond despite distance and time passed. We all seem to have gone to different countries at a time for a high school and college education still maintaining contact. So now here we are, sharing our life’s experiences worth 25 plus years and love with the world.

D-Marie: Hi I’m D-Marie, I enjoy writing but I never get the inspiration. I think this blog will definitely be an inspiration and an exciting journey with Destiny Hunters, my Best Friends Forever (we’ve been friends for so long it’s true) Something about myself?….hmmm….I’m definitely a dreamer and idealist and I’m hoping for the day when we can all just get along.

I am a lover of life and right now enjoying a whole lot of love. I enjoy travelling and I am passionate about discovering the big beautiful world God created and eating all the food there is. I enjoy reading novels and building up my collection of amazing books. When it comes to fashion, sometimes I can’t be bothered and sometimes I want to be a walking work of art. Anyway, I’m buckling up my seatbealt and can’t wait to see the amazing ride Destinyhunters.com has for us and for you.

TK: I go by many names but for this right here I will be known as TK. I am proud to be Kenyan!!!! Yap am so hyped about that…. You never really know how good it is to be… proud to be Kenyan until you’re in a foreign land and the only people who seem to find the same things funny as hell are…. Kenyans

I have been a destiny hunter since I was way back in primary school that’s a really long time to be friends with people despite our very extreme personalities. These girls right here, are the funniest,!!@#$% ( *Insert whatever works for you) you will ever meet on this planet.

I have been in the media industry for a couple of years, Please note that I am very behind the scenes so don’t bother trying to figure out who I am. Currently trying to make a name for myself in Nairobi and a lover of anything that involves Love, Friendship & Family.

Don’t want to give away too much about myself, as I will share more of that in the topics and projects we showcase on this platform.

Until my next post…..

Your Girl

Katee: Someone once said ‘if a friendship lasts for more than seven years, it will last a lifetime.’ As Destiny Hunters we have been friends for way longer than that and I am glad I found my friends who I will go through life with.

I am Katee and I think I was the second last member to join Destiny Hunters. This has been such an amazing friendship build over almost 15 years amongst 8 beautiful women in different parts of the world. I wouldn’t trade the years of fun, friendship and laughter I have gone through with these girls for anything.

Katee is………..

I am a typical girl struggling through life, love, and my career.

I am ambitious and most of the time building my career overshadows other aspects of my life.

I do not have it all together.

I do not know what the right path to where I want to go is.

I do not wear my heart on my sleeve.

I haven’t figured it all out.

I haven’t found myself yet.

I want to experience love.

I want to experience joy.

I want to experience life.

EK: Friends are just as important as family. Destiny Hunters has been part of my life since my teenage years. Our friendship has survived distance, spanned decades **don’t start counting years** and has lasted more than some of my previous relationships combined.

My journey has been full of ups and downs, love and heartbreak, pain and joy but I wouldn’t change it for a thing. The experiences have taught me a lot about the world and the complexity of human relationships.
I am excited to go on this journey, where it will lead is still a mystery. I for one am ready for the ride and hope you will join me ☺ ☺

NK: Yea Yea its cliché we’ve all mentioned this friendship but really, a goal in life should be to have laughter with friends you cherish and who other to do it with than with these group of ladies that we all grew up with.

Clearly we were on to something when we had a chairlady, treasurer and group members at the tender pre teen years, although then our goals and weekly meetings were to collect shillings in order to indulge at the local chips and sausage store and pig out on all the candy our parents wouldn’t let us buy, lol How times have changed… We are all over the world now and our goals are to invest and make a better life for ourselves and success for each other. I like to consider myself a jack of all trades…I love fashion and started a plus size fashion blog and self-proclaimed foodie who is always on the search of the next best thing to hit my palette and I sneak in a bit of traveling here and there whenever I can afford it, I am excited to embark in this whimsical journey with my girls and hope that our personalities will shine through and tickle your fancy as we document our journeys.

Miss Ness: Miss Ness checking in here and all I can say is that the mid-twenties crisis is in full swing!! Life is definitely a balancing act and with the lifestyle I live, I need to have it together for sure, and at all times.

Living the military life, being a lady, still want to party all the time, going to church, love, the opposite sex, have to go to the gym, but I love greasy food and sweets, giving loved ones a priority in my life, but I look around me and I’m surrounded by fakers and most importantly, living a life that my late father would be proud of. Not being afraid to take life by the horns, getting out of my comfort zone, and going for it with an “all or nothing” attitude. This will be an interesting ride, but who better to go through it with than the ones who have known me my entire life. Looking back, I can’t say exactly when we made friends because we have always known each other and been there for each other through the tears, highs and lows, the drama, and most importantly, celebrating each others successes in life. Join us as we continue on this journey called life.

Miss Ness.
